Adrian Clarke has explained why he thinks Paul Pogba was named in the PFA Team of the Year.
Pogba’s inclusion in the team was met by surprise especially as there was no place for Eden Hazard in the XI.
The Manchester United midfielder was the only non-Liverpool and Manchester City player to be included.
The team is voted for by fellow players and was revealed on Thursday.
Former Arsenal player, and talkSPORT2 presenter, Clarke tweeted why he thinks Pogba was chosen by his fellow players.
He wrote: “Here’s why Pogba is in PFA Team of the Year. His purple patch will have coincided with when the votes were cast. Was a fantastic run in an overall bad season.â€
He tweeted a picture showing Pogba with nine goals and seven assists at the start of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s spell as interim manager.
