Their American owner could not hide his delight with the incredible result for his team.

He first tweeted a picture of the Liverpool squad in front of the Kop with the message: ‘One incredible night’.

Henry then retweeted a video of the crowd and players singing You’ll Never Walk Alone and added: ‘Nothing like this anywhere in the world.’

Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice as Klopp’s side thrashed Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield.

They booked their place in next month’s Champions League final for the second consecutive season.

The faced an almost impossible task of defeating the current LaLiga champions after trailing 3-0 from the first leg but succeeded in the stunning comeback.

Henry saw his Major League Baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, clinch the World Series last year and will no doubt be hoping Liverpool can emulate their success this season.

Gareth Bale: How much does golf-crazy Real Madrid star earn compared to Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and co?

Gareth Bale could become one of the world’s highest paid golfers.

Well, not really, but if he does want to see out the remainder of his Real Madrid contract on the golf course – it would become a pretty lucrative hobby.

Speculation around his future has gone into overdrive after Zinedine Zidane left him on the bench for Madrid’s 2-0 defeat at home to Real Betis on Sunday.

Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid looks increasingly bleak

After the game, Zidane told reporters: “I’m sorry he didn’t get to play, but no one knows what will happen.

“If I think a player doesn’t fit in the team, I have to do what I think works best.

“No one can change what Bale has done for the team, but as a coach I have to live in the present.”

The Welshman refused to say goodbye to the Bernabeu crowd – and perhaps that’s because he’s refusing to go.

Bale, whose contract runs for another three years, is paid more than £13million a year.

It is understood Zidane has told Bale to leave Madrid this summer, but the 29-year-old has reportedly told team-mates he would happily sit on the sidelines and play golf until his contract expires in June 2022.

In fact, Thibaut Courtois has previously said the Madrid players refer to Bale as ‘The Golfer’ – because he goes to bed early and spends the majority of his time on the course.

Tottenham transfer news: Rebuild will be ‘painful’, says Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino admits Tottenham’s rebuild will be ‘painful’ in the coming months.

Spurs have gone two transfer windows without signing a player – a run they are likely to end this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino could oversee an overhaul at Tottenham this summer

Lucas Moura, a £25million arrival from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2018, was the last signing Pochettino made.

The Tottenham boss said: “When you talk about Tottenham, everyone says you have an amazing house but you need to put in the furniture.

“If you want to have a lovely house maybe you need better furniture. And it depends on your budget if you are going to spend money.

“We need to be respectful with teams like Manchester City or Liverpool who spend a lot of money. We are brave, we are clever, we are creative.

“Now it’s about creating another chapter and to have the clear idea of how we are going to build that new project. We need to rebuild. It’s going to be painful.”

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly set to heavily back Pochettino in the summer transfer window.

On a shoestring budget compared to other top-six clubs in the Premier League, Spurs are on course to secure Champions League football for a fourth successive season.

The club will also reach this season’s Champions League final if they overturn a 1-0 deficit in the second leg of their semi-final clash against Ajax next week.

And Pochettino has called for Spurs to ‘behave like a big club’.

He added: “I cannot guess (what will happen) because it’s a club decision and talk. What can we expect now?

“One question the other day was ‘the depth of the squad is not at the quality of the new stadium’ in a press conference.

“If we start next season talking about that, nothing good is going to happen in the future.

“The perception and the feeling are not going to be right. We need too much. The expectation, the reality – and then, of course, we need to give you (the media) the tools to provide our fans with the reality and find a good balance.

“We cannot tell to our fans negative things. We must always be positive. But sometimes if it’s too positive, we create an expectation that’s not the reality.

“And maybe I’m bored of talking about that. But that’s the reality. We need to fight for big things, behave like a big club and do things properly.”

Prior to the London derby at the new ground, Spurs had not conceded a single goal in their first four games.

However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men were powerless to stop the 29-year-old from firing the ball home.

Spurs dominated the opening exchanges of the game, with Lukasz Fabianski forced into a couple of smart saves.

But the Hammers were deserving of their lead at the new stadium.

Bolton Wanderers to play postponed Brentford game two days after end of Championship season

Bolton Wanderers’ postponed match against Brentford will now take place two days after the end of the regular Championship season.

The match was due to take place on April 27 but the Bolton players went on strike over unpaid wages.

It has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 7.

However, the EFL said that if Wanderers are placed into administration then they would not insist on the game being played.

The club have been in turmoil this season with wages being paid late on more than one occasion.

Former Watford owner Laurence Bassini agreed a deal to buy the club from Ken Anderson and has been given 48 hours to prove he has the financial clout to complete the sale.

On Thursday, he told talkSPORT what the stumbling blocks were to completing the takeover.

Bolton chairman Ken Anderson has been trying to sell the club

Bolton have already been relegated to League One after a dismal season on the pitch.

An EFL statement said: “The EFL Board has determined that Bolton Wanderers’ suspended Sky Bet Championship fixture with Brentford is to be played on Tuesday 7 May, 2019 and the club (Bolton) has been instructed to make the necessary arrangements.

“As previously advised, EFL Regulations provide that any League match can be played within four days of the end of the normal playing season (Sunday 5 May, 2019).

“The board also discussed the potential of Bolton Wanderers being placed into administration and took the view if that was to happen, the EFL would not insist the game be played.

“The rationale for adopting that approach is that it is the board’s view that any administrator should be allowed to concentrate their efforts and available funding on finding a purchaser for the club, rather than staging the fixture in these unprecedented circumstances.

“The EFL is also aware that the club’s Safety Advisory Group (SAG) is due to meet tomorrow and we would advise all supporters to wait until the details for the game are confirmed by the club before making any travel arrangements.”
