Club career so far?
The Ankara native joined the Galatasaray youth academy at the age of just 11. Kabak would go on to make 14 appearances for the Turkish giants, 13 of which came in the 2018/19 campaign prior to his mid-season switch to Stuttgart.
Alongside Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, Kabak is the youngest first-team regular in the Bundesliga (both were born on March 25 2000).
How much is he likely to cost?
Kabak has a £13.2million release clause, which has left a number of top clubs across Europe on red alert.
International experience?
Kabak has won 50 youth caps for Turkey, and while he is yet to make his senior debut, he was called up to the senior squad for the first time in March 2019.
What is being said about him?
“It’s incredible how worldy-wise he is for his age. It’s astonishing. I see him every day and am amazed at how he mature he is. He wants to know everything; he wants to learn German right away and understand everything. That’s the kind of attitude we need. He’s already a role model, despite his age.” – Stuttgart sporting director Thomas Hitzlsperger
He’s very laid back, very calm and doesn’t let the club’s current situation [in a relegation fight] bother him. He’s definitely got the talent to play at a big club.” – Stuttgart midfielder Gonzalo Castro
The Bundesliga’s official website compared his reading of the game and tenacity in the tackle to Sergio Ramos, meanwhile the player himself has admitted he admires the Real Madrid ace, along with Raphael Varane and Virgil van Dijk.
How will he fit in to Manchester United or Arsenal’s team?
Both clubs are in need of a major rebuild, although in the latter’s case it may be a case of selling before investing heavily in the squad, with Unai Emery reportedly only set to be handed a budget of just £40m this summer.
With that in mind, a £13.2 move for Kabak is a realistic proposition – with the Gunners in major need of adding some bodies to a confidence shot defence.
Should the 19-year-old make the move to the Emirates, he’d more than likely be deployed on the right side of a three-man defence, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac acting as the two wing-backs.
Whereas if he signed for United he would play a central role in a four-man backline, most likely alongside England international Chris Smalling, with Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot on the respective flanks.
