Chelsea’s season has hit rock bottom.
The fans are revolting because of the manager, the owner has been exiled and the club can’t even sign any players because of their two-window transfer ban.
However, there are still some reasons to be optimistic if you’re a Blues fan.
Chelsea can still qualify for the Champions League – most likely by winning the Europa League – and their transfer ban may be overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
One thing is certain, however – Chelsea’s squad is in need of a massive overhaul.
If the ban is overturned, a new striker is essential, as although Gonzalo Higuain has shown glimpses of his quality throughout his loan spell, he is not the player he used to be.
But which strikers should Chelsea target? talkSPORT.com takes a look…
LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS
Raul Jimenez (Wolves/Benfica)
The Mexican forward has taken the league by storm this season since signing on loan for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side from Benfica.
He has helped Wanderers to their best ever Premier League season, netting 12 league goals and adding six assists in 30 matches.
Wolves are keen to sign the striker permanently, but now that he has proven himself in the English top flight, Chelsea should snap him up before Nuno’s side complete a deal for the striker.
Luka Jovic (Eintracht Frankfurt, on loan from Benfica)
The Benfica forward forward has risen to be one of the hottest properties in Europe with his fine performances in the Bundesliga since joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.
The 21-year-old has netted 22 goals in all competitions this season, and Barcelona are now reportedly preparing a £50million bid to secure his services.
However, if there is any sense of urgency at Chelsea, the Blues hierarchy should move quick to hijack the deal as this forward is the real deal.
He has shown his class in Germany and appears to possess the same bullish traits as Chelsea’s last world class striker – Diego Costa.
Furthermore, Jovic is still very young and could solve the Blues’ problems up front for many years to come.
Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)
The Argentine has long been linked with a move away from Inter and his position at the club looks precarious after he was stripped of the captaincy in February.
There is no question that he is hugely talented as he has a phenomenal goal record for the Serie A side, with 109 strikes in just 179 league matches.
It would be a major coup if Chelsea land Icardi this summer, demonstrating their intent to become a force in Europe again.
Moussa Dembele (Lyon)
There was a lot pressure on the Frenchman’s shoulders when he moved to Lyon from Celtic last summer but he has delivered with 19 goals in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side.
The 22-year-old is no stranger to English football, having played for Fulham before joining Celtic.
But he was still very young during his spell with the Cottagers and now he has more experience under his belt in the Scottish and French leagues.
He could prove to be a big hit in the English top flight, with his skill set seemingly perfectly suited to the division.
A move for Dembele, however, would no doubt be a risk, but it may be worth taking as he would be a cheaper option than the other forwards in this list.

Overall, I love what NB have done with our kits. I mean I don't know how they plan on topping the home kits from last year. Though I do wish they wouldn't use such bold colors for our away and third kits. I've always loved minimalistic designs. My personal fav away kit was 10/11(??) kits. All white with the red pin stripes. Those were beauties.
