Sam Allardyce has been linked with a sensational return to football as the possible new manager of India.
The 64-year-old has been out of work since leaving Everton at the end of last season after just six month in charge of the Toffees.
Allardyce has been linked with a number of jobs throughout the season but has remained unemployed.
The Mirror are reporting that the former England manager is on the shortlist to become the new India manager.
Englishman Stephen Constantine was recently sacked as their boss after four years in charge.
Should he get the job then he would be the fifth English manager to take charge of the side with Harry Wright (1964), Bob Bootland (1982) and Bob Houghton (2006-11) having previously managed them.
Former Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear also had a brief spell managing them in 1983.
It would be a sensational return to international football for Allardyce who’s tenure in charge of England lasted just 67 days and one game.
He was dismissed by the FA after a newspaper sting exposed him giving advice on methods of getting around rules about player transfers.
