Mohamed Salah was in New York for the Time 100 Gala as he was named one of the world’s most influential people.
The Liverpool forward joined political heavyweights and Hollywood stars on the red carpet.
The 26-year-old was chosen as one of six cover stars for the magazine’s annual issue.
Other cover stars included actors Sandra Oh and Dwayne Johnson, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Taylor Swift and news presenter Gayle King.
He was pictured on the red carpet with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, Jimmy Fallon and Rami Malek.
In his interview with the magazine, he discussed the importance of women’s equality.
“We need to change the way we treat women in our culture,” the Egypt international told Time.
“I support the woman more than I did before, because I feel like she deserves more than what they give her now, at the moment.
“That has to be, it’s not optional.â€
In a piece for Time, comedian and Liverpool fan John Oliver said he ‘absolutely’ loved the footballer.
“Mo Salah is a better human being than he is a football player. And he’s one of the best football players in the world,” he wrote.

Salah received the Premier League Golden Boot for the 2017/18 campaign for scoring 32 times, and has so far scored 19 goals for Jurgen Klopp’s table-toppers this season.
He was named this year’s Confederation of African Football’s Player of the Year, having also picked up the trophy in 2018, and he was named both the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the Football Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year last year.
Salah, along with his team-mates, will put rivalry aside on Wednesday to cheer on Manchester United against Manchester City. The derby will play a big part on who is crowned Premier League champion at the end of the season.
A win for United at Old Trafford will leave Liverpool two points clear at the top of the table with three games to left to play. City, meanwhile, can reclaim top spot by taking all three points.
